The Best Children’s Books For Halloween

The Best Children’s Books For Halloween

Halloween is such a fun time of year. The decorations, scary movies, costumes, carving pumpkins, playing pranks, I could go on forever.

As a former Kindergarten Teacher, I was very lucky to always have students that liked turning out the lights, getting out a  flashlight, and reading spooky Halloween stories. We had the best time.

Now that I am a Stay at Home Mom, I was itching to get into my giant book bins that are in my garage arranged by holiday, of course. Don’t get me wrong, my son has books galore in his bedroom, but my classroom library was something I was truly proud of. I have been building my library since I was in college because the truth is: I love books.

When I think of books, I think of my dad. He was never too busy to read to me before bed. He always made the time to make those special memories with me. In fact, a lot of books from my childhood were in my classroom library, but when my dad passed away, I took them out so I could enjoy them with my child one day. Those books now live in my son’s bedroom and we read them often.

My goal: To help you and your child create lasting memories. One of the easiest ways you can do that is by simply reading them books together.

There are two people in this world. People that love to read and people that absolutely hate it. I love it. My husband hates it. Guess who read to our soon for the first year of his life? That would be me. I realized the books I was reading were simple and straight to the point which were fine for me and my son, but boring to my husband. I realized I had to give him my favorite, hilarious, over the top books to read. Now he LOVES reading to our son before bedtime and the bonding time they have created. Basically, if you don’t know where to start with reading to your child, spooky and silly books make it easy!

Check out my FAVORITE Halloween Books Below!

Yes, you read the title correctly. Creepy Pair Of Underwear! is a book that I added to my library just last year and it’s quickly become one of my favorite books to read! First of all, bring up underwear to children and you already have them cracking up. Add in a pair that glows in the dark AND that follows you around, there is no way they won’t think this is most hilarious book ever. You’ll be reading it to them again and again!

Creepy Carrots!

Does the bunny in the picture look familiar? You guessed it! In this book Jasper believes he is being chased by a group of Creepy Carrots! This book by Aaron Reynolds actually came out BEFORE Creepy Pair of Underwear!
